Welcome to my Blog

Hey guys
This Blog was started as an outlet for my newly rediscovered Atheism.  As I have been looking more into this categorization I have found some things that I find bothersome. So I decided I'll Blog about them.  This will be a largely apolitical Blog as I have friends with a Blog more focused on that for whom I do guest posts.  This is more my philosophical musings on the matter, because it's the information age Damnit and everyone needs to know what I'm thinking.

First topic:  Getting cocky
Rationalists, Naturists and Atheists are all terms I've heard to describe those who don't accept the concept of God.  Many of my friends lean this way are are full on board with the non deist idea.  The thing that I sometimes find unnerving is when said rationalists become guilty of the same type of dogmatic absolutism that they rejected in turning away from religion.  There is no God.  That may be true but it doesn't mean that we have all the answers.  As Darwinists we must believe that we are still evolving and as such our ability to understand these grand questions of the universe must be always evolving.  Atheists can't turn to science for all the answers.  If you wanted all the answers then you should've stuck with God and not tried to put his role on science.  The beauty of Atheism for me, the thing that fills me with wonder, is that I don't have all the answers.
There have been countless times in the past when science and rational thought have though they had the answers only to realize they didn't even have the questions.  To me Atheism is being okay with the idea that the search never ends.  The Universe is full of infinite wonder.  There are always more questions then answers and wrong turns in the maze.  This idea of always having more to discover and find out fills me with a rapture that believers will never know.  But if I allow myself to be bogged down with the irrationally cocky idea that rejecting theism gives me all the answers then I might as well set up an altar at the nearest laboratory and start lighting candles.
God is a cop out for those who can't stand the idea of unanswered questions.
Making God out of what we have discovered so far is the same cop out mixed with an unhealthy dose of hubris.
